The research team of SWJTU has developed a novel means of cancer treatment, Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT). It can absorb energy with photosensitizer and transform oxygen into reactive oxygen species to kill cancer cells. This method has such merits as non一intrusion, tumor-targeting accuracy, low recurrence rate, slight side effects, and non一drug一resistance. PDT medicines with excellent tumor targeting and therapeutic effect have been developed and currently researches are being conducted prior to applying them in clinic practice.
