Key Laboratory of Wind Engineering, Sichuan Province

      The Wind Engineering Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province was approved by Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province in 2012.

      The research fields of the laboratory include bridge aerodynamic and wind resistance safety, wind effects on buildings and structures and wind environment, vehicle aerodynamic and wind resistance safety and wind effects on atmospheric environment. The laboratory’s three wind tunnels are listed as follows. XNJD-1 wind tunnel is a closed circuit wind tunnel with two tandem test sections. XNJD-2 is the only rain/wind vibration wind tunnel in China, which is especially used to test the rain/wind vibration of cables. XNJD-3 is the largest wind tunnel in the worldwide wind engineering community.

      In recent years, the laboratory has conducted more than 30 programs including the National Natural Science and Technology Support Program, NKBRP, National Key Technology Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology and National High Technology Research and Development Program of China. Besides, it has completed more than 40 provincial-level projects as well as over 100 company-entrusted programs.
