The Key Laboratory of High-speed Railway Engineering, Ministry of Education was approved to be established in 2009, and then was inspected and accepted by Ministry of Education in 2011.
The main target for the laboratory lies in solving the theoretical problems about the high-speed and heavy-haul railway track and subgrade dynamics, around the crucial scientific and technological matters, according to the significant demand for the high-speed railway construction in China. The research field for the laboratory also involves railway reconnaissance and design, engineering monitoring, disaster prevention and reduction techniques, safety engineering, etc. The research interests here include the high-speed railway track and wheel-rail system dynamics, the design theories and structure techniques about high-speed railway underline engineering, the planning and design of high-speed railway line as well as the detection and disaster prevention for high-speed railway infrastructure.
There are 58 researchers working for the laboratory now, among which 54 of them have a senior professional title. In recent two years, the laboratory has undertaken nearly 200 national or provincial research projects. Three monographs have been published and nine awards above the provincial level achieved.
