The first scientific research conference in the new semester was convened in room 148, the Complex Building，on September 15 with more than 70 conferees, including all the directors of Research Management Office, the school deputy deans in charge of research work and research talents，and research coordinators.The conference was chaired by Deng Yongquan, a deputy director of the Research Management Office.
The meeting started with a report on recent research work by Wang Ping, the director of the Office.Professor Wangelaborated on theoverall performance of research work of theuniversity, the Office’s working philosophy and the focus of next stage. He stressed the significance of nurturing talents of research teams due to the fact that the younger generation’s breakthroughs in scientific research work must rely on their teams’development, giving full play to their advantages and resources .
The second half of the meeting was conducted in the form of a warm discussion. The leaders in charge of scientific research and the young teachers respectively briefed the participants on the practical situation of scientific research in their respective schools, especially the bottleneck restricting their future research. Most of the attendees agreed on the suggestion that the university refine its scientific research management work, streamline the talents introduction, and customize the assessment of professional titles.
Lasting 3 hours, the conference was concluded with a far-reaching influence on the university’s research work management.
