Intel-SWJTU Maker Center established

SWJTU and Intel Corporation (Hereafter referred to as Intel) joined hand with each other and unveiled Intel-SWJTU Maker Center on December 19th. The platform aims to provide opportunities for the target clients in terms of training, exchange and Maker Marathon, putting forward Maker culture and personnel training innovation.
 
The Maker culture is a contemporary culture representing a technology-based extension of DIY culture. It is characterized by engineering-oriented pursuits such as electronics, robotics, 3-D printing, and traditional arts and crafts.
 
The participants of the unveiling ceremony included Julia Zhu, the Director of Education Programs, Corporate Affairs Group; Hwai Peng Yeoh, ATM Principal Engineer; SWJTU Vice President Feng Xiaoyun.
 
“We especially admire Intel’s great contribution to education, and feel inspired to work with such a partner with powerful global influence in electronic industry. I believe we can further propel creative personnel training in the upcoming years,” said Feng.
 
“Intel as an innovation-oriented cross-border enterprise emphasizs the significance of small-scale innovation and universal creativity. Hopefully, we inspire students to dedicate to scientific and technological innovation and foster a sense of social responsibility,” Zhu remarked.
 
2014 Maker Training Camp will be held from December 19th to 20th in Intel-SWJTU Maker Center. Students from several universities located in Southwest region and students from middle schools will participant in this activity.
