Yang Wei, CAS Academician and the Director of National Natural Science Foundation (NNSF), visited SWJTU and had a meeting with SWJTU leaderships and representatives of SWJTU faculty members.
During its visit, the NNSF delegation visited the State Laboratory of Traction Power and Laboratory of Traffic Rail.
The newly-elected SWJTU CPC Secretary Wang Shunhong extended the warmest welcome to the NNSF delegation and detailed the historical development, and academic orientation and characteristics of SWJTU.
The NNSF delegation was fully briefed on the current disciplinary developments and the relevant academic achievements of SWJTU, by SWJTU Vice President Zhang Wengui.
CAE Academician Zhai Wanming, on behalf of SWJTU faculty members, gave the collected suggestions on the implementation of the policies of the financial support from NNSF.
Yang indicated that SWJTU as a renowned engineering university is characterized by its profound scientific researches, advanced personnel training program and rapid disciplinary development in traffic rail. He spoke highly of SWJTU’s initiative of underlining the development of youth talents and maintaining an all-around development of all disciplines.
