MOT official inspects key laboratories

     Mr. Zhao Chongjiu,Director ofDepartment of Science & Technology, Ministry of Transport (MOT) paid a visit to Southwest Jiaotong University on May 21, together with government officials at provincial level in charge of science and technology management of transport development. A meeting was held at the State Key Laboratory of Traction Power and Mr. Xu Fei, the president of SWJTU, was present to meet the guests.

     Mr. Xu Fei sent his warmest welcome and expressed thanks to the support given by the Department of Science & Technology of MOT to SWJTU through the years. He introduced the university’s engagements in China’s transport development and wished MOT could endorse more support to the construction of a national level rail transit  laboratory in the university.

    Director ZhaoChongjiu praised the university’s contribution to China’s development in transport and gave suggestions on how to integrate resources of all kinds to facilitate future’s transport development in China. He also visited several other key laboratories in the university and listened to reports given by professors from the School of Civil Engineering on tunnel construction and geological disaster prevention.
