On April 4, the meeting of Sichuan Government Science and Technology Award 2013 was held in Jinniu Hotel. Awards were grated to 247 research achievements, among which Southwest Jiaotong University won seven and two of them were from the Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering. The project “A Set of Technology for Precision High-speed Railway Engineering Surveying”, headed by Professor Liu Chenglong, was awarded the first prize, and the project “High-speed Landslide Disaster: Mechanism, Rescue and Reinforcement Technology”, led by Professor Hu Xiewen, was awarded the third prize. Professor Tan Rui from School of Life Science and Engineering was also a third prize winner.
