Streamline the Management of Research Funds to Unleash the Vitality of Scientific Exploration

         Aiming at streamlining the management of research funds, and rekindling researchers’ interest in scientific probe, Office of Science and Technology Development (Sci-tech Office), along with  researchers, research coordinators, and deans in charge of scientific work, convened a meeting on Measures for the Management of Scientific Research Funds (Trial) in room 148, Administrative Complex, Xipu Campus, on December 3, 2019.

         Initially, Professor Zhou Zuowan, director of the Sci-tech Office and an active researcher as well, made an interpretation of the Measures. Citing his frustrations and setbacks incurred by red tapes regarding fund reimbursement, Prof. Zhou illustrated the financial freedom enjoyed by the project leaders under the streamlined measures. Meanwhile, he also highlighted the responsibility born with this liberty. 

       Next, Mr. Deng Youngquan, deputy director of the Sci-tech Office, delivered a speech on scientific research integrity, urging a faithful and proper use of the fund.

       Finally, Miss Wei Wei, an expert from Office of Budget and Financial, made an explanation of the reimbursement steps and offered some solutions to problems frequently encountered by the fund winners.

        The conference was hailed by the faculty and staff involved in scientific research as a timely rain, reviving their passion in more research endeavors .
